Hi, it sounds good and I am shure it works. I use winxp 64 . When I start the cmd there is no Nero detected. How can I manage that the installer will find it. Its under C: program Files (x86).
A short install helper with known probs would be helpful....
Great work anyway...

Ok, this used to be the best burning software out there, and it set the standard for many to follow. That was before, now, it is a different matter. It took me ages to install the program, and it used my memory like there is no tomorrow. I had a few problems with it, system freezes, disc errors, multiple system restarts to go back to normal. The burning engine itself is excellent, it gets the job done, but do not even think about using any other program while running this one, otherwise, you will have some issues. The only solution I found is helpful is to use a custom install option, and only install the burning software itself, without the other features that are bundled with it, cause for me those were the cause of the problem, where most of them start up when you boot, and they use system resource. In a nutshell, great burning software, if only it came without all the rest of the unnecessary things packed with it. I really hope the upcoming version goes back to the glory of the older versions, where the main focus is getting things done.

i think Nero 9 also forces you to use .net v3.5

maybe he doesnt want to mess around with something that requires you to install .net

(just speculation on my part)

I think the problem with building a Nero 9 lite/micro is that it’s ALL changed I used to extract the self extracting exe you get from the website and keep the files in a folder as then when you need to install it only has to run them rather than extract them all to temporary directories and make a mess.

Anyways inside nero9 to me it looks packaged a lot differently to 7 or 8 and I’m guessing when Nero 9 is finally a bit more stable (it is better since 9.2.6.0) he may try but these things take a lot of time to build to the point where they work properly. And I have seen portable versions of Nero 9 lite on portableappz.blogspot.com but for me I’d rather wait however long it takes for a PROPER build.

Also when using a micro version or lite version the differences with the burning ROM and Express are minimal because in Nero 9 they focused more on updating all the other apps I noticed new splash screen and icons but that’s about it.

Thanks on the new 8.2.13.0 its all working good.

Hi, im using nero 8 micro, it makes nero really usable again...

But i have here a problem, i have a blueray burner, nero 8 support it, but if i burn a dvd-R with 8x or max speed, or 4x... anything other than 2x, it have always some errors after burning... if i burn with 2x, it works perfect, and if i burn dvd+R with max speed or 8x or anything, it burns perfect too, it happens only with dvd-R...

And the best thing is, with any other burn program, like cdburnerxp, or nero 7 micro, or nero 9 lite (torrent... there are some nero9 lites, but it's greatest crap... not so great crap as nero9 full, but crap) :-)

So i hope for nero8.4 micro, or 9 micro... (i need only the burn program) :-)

I can understand your hesitation in working on Nero 9.

The number of people that I know who are having problems with it is astounding.

I had to laugh! I too have just been rebuilding XP, got to the point where I had to rebuild nero7 too and said "I wonder if someone has found an easier way".
I was loading it up in a VM stipping the registry and repackaging with SetupX.exe and a homemade bat, with the reg and the bloatware/slowtoloadware. It was going great untill I started change options (using the full version).
So a 'hats off' to you and thank you. I hope you at least give some advice on Nero9 Lite cause I really don't want to be cheating with a Thinstalled msi repackage ;) .
