Nero Lite 8.3.6.0
With the release of Nero 8.3.6.0 no longer is stored the demo serial inside the installer, so maybe Nero updates will be less frequent from now on.
I have not tested current builds, as I don’t burn that much lately. Please report any issues here.

The installer still doesn’t identify the previous serial on Vista 64. But it does on Vista 32.
After I enter a serial on Vista 64, at the end of the installation, I get a message that I have already registered with that serial.

I using Bitdefender and in the end of installation
report me c\documents and settings\…\Local settings\temp\is-9lttb.tmp\configlicense.exe infected with Backdoor.generic.56393 why?
For the people with problems to make cd audio or mp3 encoders just use the right serial.

first of all,i like your work and appreciate it.but nero isnt freeware so you can slipstream it or even any other commercial software.You call this home of nero but its NERO.com or AHEAD.com that makes nero,dont get me wrong but they will sue next minute,you and your website when they notice your making illegal software.
To mitsabishilancer: This website doesn’t give cracked or illegal copy of Nero. It’s still same commercial software but it’s size smaller, because they removed less important parts of installer pack.
PS: This website isn’t “Home of Nero”, it’s “Home of Nero Lite”.

the european package has the pt portugal and brazilian languages … and works fine …
the ahead company put this lite and micro packages as a ilegal, but the crap blundled full version has 190mbs of many inutil tools …
neto lite and nero micro has only 45mbs and lower … it´s a good initiative … has the essencial of the software all people really use, the cd-writer …
this version need to reboot to concluse the intall, this is the unique fail point, but this works…
who want´s to register with original keys can do that …

1 question tho, is there a bug in nero lite (v8.3.6.0), i can’t sort by tracknumber when burning audio cd, all the other columns work with sort.

@Swefin. Seems like a bug in Nero to me. I had also issues getting the tracknames in the right order using Nero Express.

Cannot install on Vista32. Regsvr32 failed on some dlls. I have to use Nero Micro 7.x.
Dll registering problem solved. My account was in the Administrators group, but it was not enough, I had to run the install as the Administrator.
When I start making a new compilation (CD or DVD) I always go to Dates tab to set a unique date for all of my files and a date of creation and modification of the volume. With your versions of Nero (Lite or Micro) the date/time I choose doesn’t change even if that flag is checked. Is it because there is missing a file or something in your distribution? Could you try to get a fix for this, please? Thanks. Anyway, I must congratulate you for all the work you do! Ciao!!!
It would be good to include the Nero Smart.
So my question more of a request to this fine person doing us all a favor by making Nero Lite for us is to add Nero Smart to the main or seperate release. I’m not sure but i think Nero Smart can work with without Express.
The difference by making a installer with Smart is that there is no need to update it. The dodo head designers at Nero have ruined it and I very much doubt they will revert back to its old form. So one release that has the last version before they changed it would be much appreciated.
After all the latest Nero 9 is bunch of crap 3gb long. They have totally trashed the Nero Smart into something so hideous you wouldn’t even recognize regardless that it takes half your screen. Besides that we all know features can be made into plugins so if the new Nero was so good as developers claimed they would have given an option for you to download the main program and choose either to stay at Burning features or add all the other bullshit as plugins if you have use for them.
To me and everybody that used that Nero Smart was the ultimate interface containing every function ready to execute fast at 2-3 clicks, not only that but i had a color mode that was looking really well.
So all best wishes for the Nero lite initiative and please consider the request.
