Any chance you could please make Nero Recode add-on for the lite/micro? I love your stripped down versions but I also need a transcoder and the latest Recode has new improvements over DVD Shrink.
Can somebody tell me how I can download it.
When I open MIHD web page, there is no link for downloading. Whats that?
Great work!
For dzooky… MiHD->”Request Dowload link”->”Wait…”->”Download file” (the second “Download file” text).
It will work unless you have a script blocker forbidding that page.
Regards.
Not true, I use Firefox on Ubuntu linux to download those files for the next WinXP reboot
P.S.: Thanks by the release!!
I had trouble with Nero 8 Lite v8.2.8.0 on two computers. Not sure if the problem is with your installer or a Nero problem, but I cannot burn with it. I get the following error when attempting to burn DVDs.
“Overlapped Command Attempted”
I also found that it was a bit slower to open than v8.1.1.4. I went back to v8.1.1.4, and everything works fine again.
Still waiting for someone out there to tell me how to extract the .exe file so I can edit into the install my good serial number. I have tried a number of ways but no luck extrating. The original .exe will self extract into Windows “temp” folder but lite version will not. WHY?
Thanks
Hello,
Does anybody knows why the size of nero.exe (from Nero Micro)is 12 MB when the same file for trial version downloaded from http://www.nero.com is around 40 MB?
Thank you.
On nero micro the nero controlcenter is there but is it there for a specific reason as it seems to show nothing or is it required for something i seem not to notice
Gary, why not just change the serial number after it’s installed? I’m pretty sure there’s a way to do that.
Gordon, Nero ControlCenter is there to allow activation of your Nero copy and to change language if necessary.
I know how to change the serial after install, but I want to incorporate it within the install. I am able to do it on the full version because the files extract to windows temp folder allowing access to them. This is not the case with the lite & micro versions. How about the person who created these versions giving us a litte help on how to access those install files PLEASE!
Thanks, Gary
Gary, you can use the switch /SERIAL=”xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx” to change serial on installation.
Is it just me, or does the BurnRights program not work properly? It starts OK, but the screen where you can pick who has access is blank, so you cannot pick anything!
Are you include Nero BurnRights in this version?,
i never seen it in any version, if not please including it in next version ( i very very want it ) , sorry for my english
Lite version is reporting a non-existant serial being present at seemingly random startups. You have to close it again and restart or go to the dialog where it sends you to the screen where you can input a serial (only to see your valid serial there anyway) before it will initialize properly. Otherwise it works perfectly apart from not remembering the previous volume label (even when the settings are configured for it to remember it). I’m sure both are Ahead bugs and nothing to do with the Lite transformation.
I detected a problem with the last versions (7.10, 8.1, 8.2)
If you burn a audio cd and drag folder that contains a .jpeg archive (a cd cover), the program crashes.
The original version don’t crash. Only gives you an advise about this kind of archives (it cannot burns
them as audio archives, etc, etc)
Is NeroPatentActivation.exe being present in Nero Micro? It usually resides in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\Shared\NL3. Ta
How can you prevent this dialog from popping up everytime you start a compilation to burn (after it’s been installed for about 2 weeks)

Trial Period = 15 Days after installation
It was registered with a valid serial and the dialog doesn’t stop you burning correctly. Everything still worked fine, you just have to click CANCEL to get past the dialog each time. It is a different dialog to the unregistered one.
I’ve uninstalled it and gone back to v7.10.1.2 now to get rid of it. I find the last version of Nero 7 is far better than v8 anyway. Loads much quicker, is more reliable and doesn’t try to phone home all the time (yet). I’m sticking with the previous v7.
I have big trouble with Nero 8 and XP pro. Version 8.1.1.4 can burn DVDs, but 40% not work properly(no error messages), some applications crash. Version 8.2.8.0 crash immediately. I try reinstall Nero 8 meny meny times wiht pc restore and still NOT work. Nero 7 runs fine.
I have the same problem as Hannu. After installing the demo version and boot, I immediately get two “program needs to close – Please tell Microsoft” notifications.
Then when I run Nero Smartstart, there is another crash. So I cannot even start Nero 8.
I am using a brand new Inspiron 530 with a clean install of XP Pro, and only legal software on the PC, no hacked stuff.
Wonder what the hell is going on here.
Since then I have installed and removed Nero 8.2.8.0 several times and the Bluescreen has not turned up which is a small step forward. I removed Roxies program and installed Nero after that.
The problem I now have is that my computer, with Nero installed, is extremely slow, and that when Nero is not running. To start for example Word, it took about one minute to have it opened. The Skype IP was of very bad quality and the sound and picture often distorted and often complete stop. To see web-TV was also bad. The sound and picture were not synchronized and the movement of persons was in slow-motion.
Removed Nero 8 and everything was normal again. (In Windows Control Panel, Add and Remove programs, the size of the installed Nero 8 was
533 MB).
Tried once again to install only parts of Nero 8. I installed 1: Nero
Burning ROM, 2: Tools, 3: Nero Features and 4: Nero Home
I am sorry to report that the result was exactly the same as with a complete installation. I really tried everything but the computer
behaved as described above.
Removed Nero 8 again and the computer is back to normal. The curious thing is that the size of Nero 8 indicated in Add and Remove programs,
was 533 MB even now!
As you can understand I am very disappointed with the upgraded version and I now insists in getting your support which will solve the
problems. I am doubting that I am the only one with similar problems
I don’t get real support with my problems.
When trying to write “Audio CD” error is shown:
“Unable to load plug-in manager”
Sorry..I found that I have unchecked Nero Audio Plugins when installing..
Hi all, you are doing a great work with nero Micro. Maybe you could help me on this one. I installed Nero Micro, I added my valid, buyed, real, serial key from Nero. Next time I reboot and try to access Nero burning, the program says that the key is not valid! I tried to add a non legit key and it works, till the next reboot, again I add my legit key, and in the next reboot the same problem, over and over. What happen? I also tried to deny access to Internet to nero programs, but again, the same problem. Running Nero Micro on windows Vista.
I would also like Nero Recode 2 being implemented in Nero Lite. It would be great if something like that was planned for future versions.
I have the same problem as Carlo above. After installing Nero my entire (XP) system comes grinding to a halt. There is continuous hard drive activity for long stretches, during which nothing loads and my system is unresponsive.
Loading up a restore point from before the installation fixes the problem, but of course then I can’t use Nero.
Anyone else having these issues?
Yeah im having the same problem. Windows crashes with no explanation and i am forced to hard reset my Computer. i have a feeling its Nero. its Windows Xp Pro fresh install and it starts to give me the blue screen!!
The Nero 8 Lite 8.2.8.0 download at top of page is great!!! Just spent hours trying to get Nero Ultra 8 to work with Vista, but StartSmart just failed to load and kept getting Runtime error message. Tried every web suggestion I came across to fix it, lots of uninstalls and reinstalls, but nothing worked. Then came across this and it works a dream! AND the registration key from the Ultra edition works with it, so no longer just a trial version.
Thanks guys!!
